Upcoming events in George and the Garden Route
The major event coming up this month is the Outeniqua Expo and Festival, which takes place from 5-7 March 2011. This jam-packed event is the Southern Cape’s most established festival, having been running for several decades. And it’s no longer just a farmer’s market. These days, the modernised festival boasts a variety of themed events, renowned local entertainers and, of course, a feast of flavours to delight every tastebud.
This year, you’ll be able to enjoy a host of exciting expos, including lifestyle, beauty, garden, adventure and agricultural expos, and plenty more. There’s a variety of entertainment for all ages, and of course, some of the Garden Route’s most delicious treats and drinks. As one of our biggest and most highly anticipated annual events, the festival attracts thousands of locals and visitors every year. If you haven’t yet booked your accommodation, do so now!
Next month, the famous Klein Karoo National Arts Festival (KKNK) takes place in Oudtshoorn, and it’s another Garden Route event that is well worth experiencing. Be sure to book your accommodation early because the event is one of the most popular on our calendar. I’ll give you all the details in next month’s newsletter.
Finally, Buffalo Rally – or the Buff as it’s affectionately known – takes place from 18-20 March 2011 in Mossel Bay. It’s an exhilarating biking event that attracts thousands of bikers and spectators from all over the country. Apart from the impressive bikes and adrenaline-boosting action on offer, there’s also a variety of entertainment for spectators, and plenty of food and beverage, which organisers ensure is reasonably priced.
