| If you love kids then don’t miss the second Garden Route Babies and Kiddies Festival takes place from 30 September to 2 October at the Mount View Resort and Lifestyle Village, and also promises plenty of toys, treats and excitement for littlies.. |

| For the fit and adventurous, the Merrell Eden Duo Adventure Race takes place in the Wilderness on 30 October 2010, and offers races of 50km, 150km and 200km. It’s now in its 10th year and is one of South Africa’s leading adventure races. George is the ideal place to stay during the race, but book your accommodation early! |

| Later in the month is the DCM Cape Pioneer Trek, which takes place in Prince Albert from 18-23 October. This MTB challenge is certainly not for the faint-hearted, with roughly 30% of the race covering virgin single-track territory. Participants should gear up for a tough race - although they’re guaranteed to be pampered at each water point, with massages, plenty of food and even braaivleis on offer! |

| If these two options are a little strenuous for your liking, why not enjoy a more leisurely outdoor experience with a trip to the Garden Route Botanical Gardens in George? It’s a natural wetland area set against the Outeniqua Mountains, and a great place to enjoy the spring weather with your family or friends. There are several walking and hiking trails, so pack a picnic basket and make a day of it. |
